Frequency Cap
The Frequency Cap restriction indicates the maximum number of times that members can earn the same outcome in a specified period.
Note that the Frequency Cap restriction:
-
limits the number of completions. The default value is unlimited.
-
is per a timeframe. Defaults to 3650 days unless otherwise specified (the Timeframe restriction is specified)
The following table describes the interaction of the Frequency Cap, Timeframe, and Max Event Rate restrictions.
Restriction settings | Results |
---|---|
|
Members have 3650 days (essentially unlimited) to earn the outcome up to a total of 10 times. Members can earn the outcome up to 10 times in the same day (because Max Event Rate is not set). |
|
Members have 7 days to earn the outcome up to a total of 10 times. Members can earn the outcome up to 10 times in the same day (because Max Event Rate is not set). |
|
Members can earn the outcome an unlimited number of times (because Frequency Cap is not set), but a maximum of twice per day. |
|
Members can earn the outcome twice per day for 7 days. |
|
Members have 3650 days to earn the outcome up to a total of 10 times but can only earn up to 2 per of day (that is, cannot complete all 10 on the same day.) |
|
Members have 7 days to earn the outcome up to a total 10 times but can only earn the outcome twice per day, (that is, cannot complete all 10 events on the same day). |
Events for which this is a core restriction
None.
Example
Members receive a bonus reward on their birthday. To ensure that the reward is given only once a year, the Frequency Cap is set to 1.
